And at that, you don't HAVE to fight it smile.gif

If I'm not mistaken, certain characters, like the Paladin and Fighter, have to actually fight the thing (assuming they haven't taken certain skills that belong to other classes).

That's what I meant - You don't HAVE to, depending on skills smile.gif

I prefer hanging back and blasting the crap out of the horror with a couple forcebolts

Gaily bedight, a gallant knight in sunshine and in shadow,
Had journeyed long, singing a song, in search of El Dorado.
But he grew old, this knight so bold, and o'er his heart a shadow,
Fell as he found no spot of ground that looked like El Dorado.
And as his strength failed him at length, he met a pilgrim shadow.
'Shadow,' said he,' Where can it be, this land of El Dorado?'
'Over the mountains of the Moon, down the Valley of the Shadow.
Ride, boldly ride,' the shade replied,' if you seek for El Dorado.'

Fighting him always gave me a touch of trouble (but not too much smash.gif )

Yes, Elsa's quite right, there's also a Fairy (Faery for all you picky ones) battle theme. And the Priest Horror also counts..

I loved all QFG4 battle themes. So cool! I think one of the things that started me on the path to wanting to record myself was QFG4's battle musics.

But.. Wraith Battle will always win for me. Just oozes coolness.

With regards to Chernovy Battle- it's good, but it's short, and doesn't have as many elements to it as some of the others. Like Necrotaur for example. Same goes for the Badders Battle. But don't get me wrong- I love 'em all!

If anyone wants to compare; here's some of my own personal files- please note that these are old recordings (although some are still superior to what QuestStudios did in '99), and that I'll be revisiting QFG4's music this year..

Chernovy theme is my favorite battle music, but my favorite music overall in QG4 is "Katrina's Sacrifice". The scene may have been heart-wrenching, but the music is really cool. Anybody got an ogg file of that music?

I loved every piece, Wraith battle being my favourite, bu there's so many other excellent pieces.

Katrina's Sacrifice? As with many tracks i recorded in '03, there's 2 versions of this as well..
Katrina's Sacrifice (SC General MIDI)
Katrina's Sacrifice (MT-32 with SC Guitar)

I can't wait to revisit this soundtrack with what I hope will be vastly improved realism..

Aye, Kat's Sacrifice is pretty awesome. I also think the Wyvern song doesn't get enough respect. I love the bass intro.

It's pretty hard to pick favorites in this game. But my overall favorite piece is Erana's Garden (General MIDI). smile.gif

I voted for the Wraith battle as well. I like the Necrotaur battle theme too, but the Wraith is my favourite.

I didn't know that you had recorded QFG4, but I see that you have the entire soundtrack plus some enhanced versions. I just downloaded the whole thing. Sounds good! thumbs.gif

My Favorite was the Fairie Folk battle...but of the monsters, the Last Boyar (the Pit Horror) is one of the most AWESOME battle themes.
