How about this one. What if the CD got broken by a nephew many years ago and my brother kept the quest for glory 5 box and then lost it? Basically, I am screwed. Still searching for free download to this day. I still have the first 4 games though. Woopee. new_Eyecrazy.gif

QFG5 has two CDs - an Install CD, and then a Game CD. Do you have either one of those two?

As per a post by Elsa in the Rants forum;

"The proof could be:

1. A picture of you holding your cd case and manual or box with manual
2. A screenshot of your original cd's contents (one of the cds will do)"

If you can provide either # 1 or 2 above, one of us here would be happy to help you out.

No problem - the CDs are on the way now, if all goes well you should receive them in about 2 weeks or sooner. They should make it by January 13th at the latest.

Hey Canond,

Did the CDs make it? They should be there by now I would think.

hey, I kinda hve the same problem. I went to reinstall my copy of QFG5 after many years of not having it on a computer, and it won't install. Theres a problem with one of the files (hdnw.spk in the data folder) and I was wondering if someone knew of a way I could convince the CD to work, or if somoene could maybe give me an ISO of the install CD (can provide proof that I have the CD if thats the case).

Thanks ahead for the help

Hey Fooliam,

Have you tried making a copy of the CD? Try copying all of the files to your hard drive - and then burn a copy of them on a new CD. I am hoping that maybe that will help if the CD is skipping when it goes to read that particular file.

I could also e-mail you that file - and then if you copy all of the other files except for that one, take my version of the file, and burn a new CD; that should work.

If all else fails, if you can give us the proof that you own a legit copy of QFG5, I am sure someone here will be willing to mail you a copy. Which country do you live in?

For the proof, we would need:

1. A picture of you holding your cd case and manual or box with manual
- or -
2. A screenshot of your original cd's contents (one of the cds will do)

Hi everyone!

I have the same problem here: I tried to install QFG5 after many years, but it just wouldn't.

I tried copying all the files from the install CD to my hard disk. It seems that the file hdn.spk is damaged. I tried hard to recover it, in vain.

Fortunately for me, the game CD is still in good condition.

I would be really glad if someone could send me this file... I'm dying to play this game! (I just finished the first four of the series)

Thanks a lot in advance!

http://www.legendsof...grandom/HDN.SPK <-- that's the file from my original game disk - may have to right-click and save-as to get it to DL properly.

Hopefully this will fix your problem! :)

Thanks a LOT Orion! The game works perfectly now! It's nice to play the game after such a long time!

I'm as happy as Yuri the innkeeper when Tanya was brought back to him!

Thanks again!  :spin:

Thanks Orion! This site's really great!  :)

Actually, I have another problem:

I can't import my character from QFG4 (at least that doesn't prevent me from playing the game!).

Apparently, it's because the character sav file is larger than 300 bytes (it's 466 bytes). I tried saving it again, but it remains the same. Is there anything that can be done?
