Introduction
If
you own an up to date computer - a Pentium 4 and you are trying to run the
old Qfg series from Qfg 1 to Qfg4, you are defintely having at least these
problems:
- Strange
things happen and you get strange beheaviours from some game characters
and objects (eg. The Laibon keeps waving his hands endlessly in Qfg3).
- You
get lots of errors while performing some specific actions in specific
places and situations and the games crash afterwards (eg.Error52: Mad
Monk's tomb exiting the screen/fighting the chernovies - the Qfg 4 nightmare!).
- You
get no sound since the games fail to recognize your new soundcard or you
get soundcard errors during the games.
- You
get Memory Management errors that crash the games at times or won't even
allow you to start the games!
- Then
you start wishing you had an old computer with Dos on it... ;)
...And
that's to sam it all up.
There
have been lots of solutions to these problems, including:
-
-
Using
slow down utilities for your CPU, like Moslo and CPU Killer.
-
Reinstalling
the game with no soundcard assigned to it.
-
Installing
various bug fixes and patches.
