Well I don't know - I just can't figure it out lol.gif Is Omar's purse always (everytime you play the game) lost and available to find? wink.gif

Or is it more like a luck thing and it doesn't always get lost so in that case your Hero can become a Paladin cause there was no lost purse to be found? confused.gif

I'm asking cause I've read somewhere that the Hero somehow has to find Omar's lost purse and return it in order to become Paladin...and it's been ages since I've played Qfg2 before and now that I'm playing it - I've reached Night 16 with my imported from Qfg1 Fighter and yes I did see Omar speaking at the Fountain plaza on day 7 or 8 (can't remember exactly which but I saw him) but there was no lost purse anywhere.

Plus I remeber the last time I found the purse - Omar was speaking at Fountain Plaza and I left and came back and it was laying there on the floor wink.gif And when I picked it up and went to the Adventurers Guild there was a notice about Omar's lost purse at the Board... wink.gif

So the thing is... do I get back and start looking for the damn purse or is it ok to continue - I did everything else that I had to do so far for my Hero to be able to become Paladin and his Honor is high too 100 + (can't remember exact figure) angel.gif

Elsa, as far as I recall, you have to have listened to Omar's poem in the Inn on the 3rd evening. If you don't listen to it, then I think you won't be able to find the purse.

On the 7th day you'll hear Omar reciting his poem in the Fountain Plaza, and you will listen to it, go away, then come back and find the purse. If I remember correctly, you must listen to the poem in the inn on the 3rd day in order to get the purse on the 7th.

When you listen to him on the 7th day, you MUST stay until his poem is done. To know when the poem is done, look at the fountain, it's turned off, but when it starts pouring again, means the poem is done. Then you can leave and come back to get the purse.

Mm-hmm. Poets become really annoyed if their audience doesn't listen to the whole poem. <grin> I know - I'm a poet. And you do not want to know what happens to people if they walk away half-way through listening... <grin becomes decidedly more wicked>

BTW Almirena, do you live in Sydney? Do you sing in the Sydney opera?

Maybe in several years from now, I might take a vacation in Aussieland and see you sing wink.gif

Oh, great... <groan of despair>

I never managed to find that purse. Never ever! frown.gif Now I've got another job to do... another reason to play QfG2 from the beginning... oh well. A Stable Kid's work (or should I say, play) is never done. <smile>

<to the tune of "We're Off To See The Wizard" from "The Wizard of Oz">
I'm off to see the poet, the wonderful poet Omar!
And while I listen to him work, I'll have a chocolate bar!

etc... feel free to continue this one... <grin>

You never got it lol.gif That's something new.

Then again, there's still something in QFG 2 that I never got, something that had to do with the Moneychanger's guard, but I still haven't figured it out.

Franc has something? Besides a lot of puns about money?
Paladinlover
I *THINK* he does, you see, I opened up QFG 2 with my Beta version of SCI studio, and when I was surfing through the sprites in the game, I found two cells that show Franc's mouth moving and his arm going into a position as if he was shaking someone's hand.

But then again, I've seen sprites that were never used in the game, like full animation of Shema walking down and up, even though they were never used in the game.

PL, I live in Melbourne, not Sydney. We have a gorgeous arts centre here, with a spire thing that looks quite alien at night.

To hear me sing is a matter of checking when I'm doing something. For instance, I'm currently waiting to hear back from a company, to see whether I have the role of Queen of the Night in a forthcoming opera. I also have a conducting job with a choir shortly - and a concert commemorating a dear friend who died last year - and another concert with a tenor who is a bit of a pain to work with...

It's all over the place.

I remember you once told me about your friend, I still feel bad frown.gif crying2.gif

I hope s/he's happy where s/he is right now.

In anycase, if I ever visit Melbourne on a tour, I'll be sure to locate you smile.gif, Australia sounds like a facinating place to visit.

Heh, you guys are lifesavers! I always wondered what the trigger was for Omar's purse drop.

All this time, I was just getting lucky... lol.gif

I always used to assume that purse was a gift from Omar - I thought the scrap of paper in the purse was meant to be read by the Hero. However, odd thing: When I was playing as a fighter, I didn't give the purse back - didn't remove the contents, either, because I thought it would be added automatically (I was very young at the time), but I STILL got 500 points, and I still became a paladin.
