If you don't have Qfg 5 already and wish to buy it and you are having a hard time finding a copy, you might wanna try looking at Sierra's site, there's a link for Amazon's store where you can find a copy.
http://www.sierra.com/product.do?gamePlatformId=325And also you may try looking at ebay's online store (for a used copy) :

The more links, the better... It's just a pity that the "used" prices are more than the game cost NEW. Oh well... that's what happens when a no-longer-produced game is still in demand.

<Agrees with Almirena> I was lucky finding a new copy of DF. Had to go the auction route to get my hands on GK2. You'd think Sierra would realize that the market would probably support a download site. Possibly charging a small fee to download games that they no longer wish to produce? <shrug> But then what do I know...

Ah, I still remember when I got my copy of QfG5. 'Twas a hot day in December. (Decembers usually bring summer to us Aussies). I had asked the store about the release date for that game for about 3 months before it came out. I think they were starting to notice.
Then, on that day in December, I called the store *again* and asked if it had come in yet. They said "Yes". My heart beat a little faster. I asked them to put a copy aside for me and, as soon as time permitted, I rushed down there posthaste. Luckily, my copy was still under the table. I took it, paid for it, did a little triumphant dance, and went home.
Okay, so it's not much of a story. Sorry. <shrug>

So... in a sense... the General was Christmas turkey.

aye, and the blood of the Hydra was me green beer on St. Patty's Day! *imagine a little sarcasm with a cheesy Irish accent*
I got mine around the same time as well and remember playing it on my horribly slow and outdated system I had at the time that almost didn't even need fixes for timer bug problems. Go figure.

Got both games at the same time a few years back, buying both of them though the Sierra On-line store before they removed them from their product catalog.

My dad dug up the original EGA version of QFG a long time ago for me, and I played through it about halfway. Then Dragon Fire came out and I had jsut got a new pc, so dad bought that for me too. Loved it. Then the install cd shattered in my drive. So my dad ordered another QFG and a new 32x CD-ROM over Amazon. Now I"m playing the rest of the games thanks to my friend.
