I don't know how many of you have done this...
Instead of avoiding the antwerp, fight it. The game gives you a message about how you cockily prepare to fight. You fight. The antwerp bounces. It rebounds out of view.
Then you go to the right. Now - I'd done this much before... but since I was pancaked by the antwerp, I thought... ah... don't do it. BUT... get your broadsword or dagger ready. Click the weapon onto the descending antwerp as you see a shadow coming down. See what happens...
Have fun!

Done it a million times before Al
Besides, I think that you SHOULD do it, after all, otherwise, there would be no Antwerp population explosion, and it would still be mentioned in QFG 4, it should be done for consistance reasons.

Almirena, 'killing' the antwerp is the right option if you want to save the antwerps from extinction.
You see, if there is only one antwerp left, and the only way it can reproduce if it is cut or stabbed, then why not cut and stab it so it can make more little bouncing antwerps and insure the continuation of the species?

But who said that one was the last one. It didnt say that in the game, or did it. It was so long ago when I played qfg1, I cant remember.

It wasn't... The Brigands had another in their hideout to bounce you if you failed to see one of their trip-ropes.

I'm not saying it's the last one, I'm just saying that Antwerps are an endangered species and the hero did a good deed by helping to increase their population.

And they do mention in either 1 or 4 that the only way Antwerps can reproduce is through violent means. So, no harm done unless you have poked an underage Antwerp....

Ahem. <looks incredibly moral> It WAS an underage Antwerp! I asked it to fill out a census form, and it... it... fingerpainted the form. That proves it. <grin>

Oh dear...Poking an underaged Antwerp is not good at all... ::shakes her head sadly::

An underage Antwerp... the horror!
no, no, no, I mean poking a fully grown antwerp of breeding age, that would do far better, besides, I can't bear to bust a little Antwerp

Bust a baby Antwerp to make 'em even smaller! <grin>
Paladinlover
Jul 23 2003, 04:34 AM
No, that isn't possible, they need to be of sufficent size before they can reproduce.

Hey... that's not a bad idea, seeing that baby antwerps can't reproduce, you can actually eat them without fear of them popping in your mouth.
Although I would rather remove their innards first, I mean, suppose there was poo forming up in their bladders... EEEEEWWWWW

Mishell, I greatly enjoy writing myself. But at the current moment (and for many months) I've suffered from writers block, I have all the inspiration to write a good story, but the motivation to actually open up my MS-word and type it down is lacking at the moment.
In a way this does have it's benefits, for one thing, I've had time to plan the story out and to hammer more and more flaws as time passes. But that won't do any good if the story does take flight eh!

I wish I had writer's block sometimes. Writing is like a compulsion to me. I can't stop. Most of it's pure crap, yet I keep writing it. SOMEBODY STOP ME!!!

You wish you had writers block, and I wish I was like you
I've had writers block for more than 7 months now. Although I did manage every now and then to write a chapter, I'm hardly ever trying these days.

Writing is definitely a compulsion for me. A blank piece of paper doesn't stay that way - I just have to write. A computer screen with Word on it - well, all those lovely blank pages have to be filled...
The stories of the universe are stored in us - we must tell them, for we are the keepers of the tales.
I do not know the meaning of writer's block, and strongly suspect it is just a geas gained from looking for too long into the eyes of the local equivalent of Ad Avis...

My writing career is over, I've had writers block for 6 or 7 months now. I don't know how long anybody else has had it, but I guess I should just accept it, I'll never be able to write anymore

Try writing in a different genre. I know my original and somewhat unrealeased fiction has stalled so I am writing a bit of fanfiction to keep in practice.
As you practice on different stuff you will get out of the rutt your mind has sunk itself into and start getting what you feel to be good (IE; You feel you have to write it) ideas coming to you. 90% of writers block is being bored with your topic, so change it and see what happens.

For some people, like me, just relaxing and sitting at the computer with plenty of time is a good way to start.

I usually crush all who oppouse me. So I always take out the antwerp. Plus the antwerp makes a great pick up line, "Why don't we go back to my place and make like a horizontal antwerp."
