So, has anyone tried this?

Can't say I have. I only use AIM Express ( Java version ) on this, my dad's computer. On my other computer, I use Trillian which doesn't have ads.

The acutal AIM standalone program has banner ads on the interface. They weren't a problem for me when I used a paid screen name. Now if only I could find a program to increase AIM file transfer.
