hi, I have the Anthology, i go into the install dos window press E for english and then A for original QFG or any letter up to J for QFG 4 then it says (no matter which game i wanted to install) "installing Quest for Glory 1 original version".

I press C or D either hard drive to try and install it too then it says "Access is Denied"

"Directory creation error.
Please create a sierra directory from the root of your : drive and try again"

so i tried making the directory myself still says the samething.

PLEASE HELP ME I NEED TO PLAY THESE GAMES AGAIN!! or atleast part 1 so i can then import my guy to Tierra Ent. Remake of QFG II.

Thank you.
Matthias
ok, here's the deal: everyone I've talked to about the DOS install for the Anthology/Collection CDs (which are exactly the same in my experience, I used to have both) has had similar problems (myself included).

I found my solution to work well. Use the Windows installer for the first 3 games and run them in DOSBox (they are DOS games anyway, whether they're run under Windows or not. They all work perfectly in DOSBox for me). You can do this with Quest for Glory 4 too, but there's a DOS installer on the CD for the voice version of that game as well that works perfectly. I myself just installed the Windows version and used NewRisingSun's timer fix patches since DOSBox didn't fix the timer issues in that game for me. Anyway, hope that was helpful to you smile.gif

oh yeah, and you can find DOSBox in the downloads section of the main page I believe if you don't already have it.

Alright cool thanks, i got them all up and running but now i have another problem

I cant save my import file it just keeps saying after i hit enter if i wanna try saving
it again. I thought maybe it put the file where i wanted it but it didnt. I even tried
putting it on a floppy disk. no luck.

PLEASE HELP! crying2.gif

well, as far as saving on the floppy goes, if you're using DOSBox you need to have the floppy drive mounted (I think the readme tells you how to do that).

If it's asking if you want to try and save your character again, that usually means that it did save your character somewhere unless it says otherwise. What I usually do is just type C:\QGStuff (a folder where I keep my imports) and it puts it right there.

Hope that helps smile.gif

I dunno, i can't get it to work it wont save even if i take off dosbox and run
superfast on my normal computer speed.

that's wierd. Try posting a topic on the official QG boards (there's a link around there somewhere). There's a few people there that know a lot more about bugs in the games than I do.
