Well to be honest I don't blame him since we don't have much of a response from the people that kept saying how much they wanted a new Quest for Glory


Hopefully this will change somehow though.....

Let's not worry about that now... I believe a lot of people have become disheartened because of past petitions that went nowhere, and the general view that it's no use.... and so on.

I KNOW there'll be no further QfG games if we do NOT go ahead with the petition. So we're doing our best to change that no-condition. As people see the response growing, it will be encouraging to those who are hanging back now...

Well, maybe there is hope, I mean, it took QFG fans three years to get Sierra to make QFG 5, and they did that as a result of a flood of petitions, mail and whatnot.

If nothing else it will make a lot of people registered to these boards and no, I'm not implying that you made the petition just to lure people to the boards - I'm just noting the effect.

The biggest cause of apathy is... apathy. The major reason why petitions get nowhere is because people lose heart. But let's keep our hearts unlost... (wraps someone else's beard around a tree, lacking her own.) petition business is like eating peanuts.

A friend of mine just had a GREAT idea. Instead of just a petition, set up an investment fund. People who invest in the fund will be buying tiny shares of QFG6, and the money raised will help pay Sierra for the rights. The people who pay now, will get a free copy of the game and some amount of the profits. (I'm trying to get my friend to register so he can tell you about the idea himself!)

I've been thinking and I'm starting to change my mind, if things go as they are, we might as well suceed. Right now, we just need lots of sigs, luck and hope that the QFG novel is a sucess.

I actually had a dream of there being QFG action figures - with smaller ones in kids meals at Burger King and McDonalds, and also ones based on regular board members...

I think that it might be possible, since Lord of the Rings has been around as a book series for a while, ever since 1954 and 1955! Long before it became a movie, and there were even some ancient PC LOTR games, but they were 16 color at that time.

I certainly hope it'll become a movie, just imagine how much money it would make! And just think, a movie would mean more games. Of course they would be action oriented and all, but they would still be cool.

But my only hope is that it, if it does become a movie, it doesn't take 50 years for that to happen!

I think it's a splendid idea, I'd buy a couple of shares if I had the money, but unfortunately, I'm still a college student and I don't have a job yet. And since I intend to get my masters degree, it'll be about 4 years from now before I can get a job (currently I'm beginning my third year).

But by all means, go for it! I'm sure you'll find a lot of people who'll buy shares, or at least I hope you would.

Just one request: if you do create this major company... please consider the loyal fanatic fans first! You won't believe the incredible skills that exists in the QfG-fan ranks!!!

The online petition has over a hundred signatures. That's good - but we need to garner a LOT more signatures before Vivendi will take it seriously.

PLEASE... contact anyone who hasn't already signed on the petition which is HERE, in the Rants and Raves section. We need at least a thousand signatures to make this work.

I know some people are sceptical, remembering previous petitions that went nowhere, lemming-like falling over metaphorical cliffs. But the situation is now different. Vivendi seems to be interested, vaguely, in some selling off of rights. Lori has a book based on QfG, which is being looked at by publishers.

There's never been a more propitious time for Quest for Glory - a real chance to make this work.

I signed it. Of course I'm not discouraged by past petitions. The last one I signed was for Quest for Glory V... and it worked.

I know we've tried this petition YEARS ago at Hero6. Problem we've had is that people don't want to post on other forums. For example, very few Tierra fans will post on Hero6 forums. In other words. Someone should create a totally independant forum with only one goal: on-line petition.

By the by, someone should really turn on guest posting in the anouncement forum. I know of about 20 who would have posted for the novel, but didn't want to register. Don't believe me? Check in the Tierra forums... At Hero6 also, but only in the super secret member forums.
