A simple poll.

I personally think Iblis would win. Arabic mythology makes him out to be a truly awesome being. He is king of the Marid, the most powerful race of Djinni, and he is the most powerful of all of them. He also has a nigh invincible army of Marid backing him.

Plus, Iblis has lived in Glorianna since the beginning, so he has small but certain edge in knowledge.

My vote goes to Iblis - unless Avoozl has a lamp handy and challenges Iblis to a "see how small you can go" duel.

It's amazing how stupid a truly mighty evil being can be...

Avoozl, the reason being is this. Iblis wants to rule the earth, Avoozl simply wanted to destroy it. So Avoozl is the greater evil.

"Evil" is a bit more broad than that, I think. And this is who would win, not who is more evil anyway.

Anyway... this poll has given me an idea...

Well yeah, but I do believe that Avoozl would win, Iblis probably didn't have the capability of destroying the world, while Avoozl could do so at his whim.

It's not wise to doubt Iblis' power. I'd say he's much more powerful than Avoozl. And just as evil. I actually have information to back up my vote.

Not in my opinon, Avoozle was vastly bigger than Iblis, and remember that Iblis was contained before, although it took Sulieman an entire army of genies. But it could be done.

Meanwhile, Avoozl was simply halted from being summoned, and not contained after the fact. Henceforth Avoozl wins!

No I'm using the story as to how they got in their current predicaments as why Avoozl is more powerful.

I have a better idea than a person who's only played the game and read the manual. . .

Suffice it to say that Iblis could destroy the world about as easily as Avoozl.

Both Iblis and Avoozl failed - we can speculate that Iblis wouldn't have been prevented from being summoned by a paltry thing like someone laughing... we can speculate that Avoozl would have shrugged off incorrectly lit candles...

The point is that we don't know. It's all supposition, because manifestly BOTH of these villains were evil, and powerful. They both required some sort of summoning, calling, or ritual to enter into the world - so they're not infallible or omnipotent.

Interestingly, though, BOTH were beings which Ad Avis was trying to call... very interesting... Hmm...

Ad Avis tried to call Iblis so he can control him and use him to rule the world.

In Shadows of Darkness, Ad Avis tried to get Avoozl so he can block out the sun perminantly and then he'll be all powerful and prey on all people.

And in both cases, Ad Avis used treachery in his attempt.

Logic is useless if you don't know enough about the subject. Iblis is at least equal, more likely more powerful than Avoozl.

No, you see, Iblis was a Genie, he wasn't made to destroy and he is 'of this world'.

Avoozl on the other hand, was called from another deminsion specifically to cover the world in Darkness, but that wasn't what he was planning to do, he was going to destroy the world, and nothing could stop him if he was released.

Iblis on the other hand, simply had plans for world conquest, and an earthly wizard (albeit a powerful one) and an army of lesser genies managed to contain him. I doubt they would have done the same to Avoozl.

And where exactly does it say Avoozl has the power and will to destroy the world? Or have the power to cover the world in Darkness, for that matter? I've seen many references to his ability to cover the LAND in darkness, but the world? You seem to think of him as some kind of god. . .
