Why do you keep attacking me
Whenever I'm just a newbie!
Frightening the crap out of me...
Makes need a lavatory...
-------------------------------------------Alrighty... The other day, I was attacked by a Saurus Rex on day 2... I've always thought that the monsters appeared after a certain experience points...
Any explanations? And I didn't drink any RootBeer...

Ow! That's the toughest bloody monster in the game! I don't usually see those until by the time my experience is over 5000. . .

Never noticed that... I always figured the monster encounters were random.

It was probably a bug in your game, Orion.

In EGA I've fought a troll once on day three. It seems that low experience only makes them much less likely to appear, not impossible to appear. Much like night increases your likelihoods of meeting tough monsters.

Chance can play nasty trick on you. I hope your hero ran with fleet feet into the bushes to get away from the Saurus. If you have a Frost spell of some sort, you can always make it a Cold Saurus...

Clearly there is need for a therapist here.
Dr. Almirena Ruhmsucher might be able to assist... Her Helmet of Doom is standing by.

I was never attacked so early by T-rexes. I have no idea why you were. For me, it happened only if I was either really tough, or I freed Bernard.
Then again, it might have been just one of those things.

Yes, I don't know any Latin at all. So I guess in case the Pope comes over to my place and starts speaking Latin, it's all Greek to me (Excuse the really lame joke :LOL )

*Helmet of Doom ™ Chief*
He quickly arrives at the scene with the team right behind him.
He looks at Orion for a moment and turns to his men.
"Alright you men!!" He says with a thundering voice. "We have an injured cattle here!!...." Suddenly he is interrupted by a team member.
"Man..." He says in a somewhat low tone looking down.
"And...!!!....Huh? What was that trainee???" He says loudly.
"It's a man... sir...?? The trainee replies.
"Ah....." He brings Orion's picture in his brain for a moment "Yeah whatever!"
"Alright you men!!!" He starts the thundering voice mode again. "Quick equipment check!!!" He pauses for a moment.
"HUMMER!!" He calls out.
"Check!!" a voice comes from the team members side.
"Chainsaw!!!" He calls again.
"CHECK!!" another member replies.
"SPEAR!!!"
"CHECK!!!"
"NEEDLE!!!"
There's no reply.
"I say NEEDLE!!" He repeats.
"NEEDLE!!!!! Where the hell are you man?!?!?!?"
And finally.....
"HERE SIR!!" A short man appears with a long pointy piece of iron the size of a sword. "I was just preparing the fire for heating up the NEEDLE sir!"
"Alright then!!! "The Chief turns to Dr. Ruhmsucher"
"Ready to OPERATE on your command!!!"

Don't ignore the conundrum known as the Helmet of Doom! For it will come back to haunt you!
It was simply magiced onto your head
Paladin Wizard
Jun 29 2004, 05:19 PM
It still wouldn't be able to get past my helmit's wards. And if it's tech then it won't affect me because of my very high arcane stats.
Orion
Jun 29 2004, 05:26 PM
d00d... You're getting too DnD here
Paladin Wizard
Jun 29 2004, 05:35 PM

I'm just making it even more difficult for you after the lame excuse that you magiced it onto my head. Right through my magic armor.

No through... Just under

And that is exactly the point. The spell wouldn't work because the item is tech. Plus the spell would have to get through all of my counter wards. And I'm a Dragon, which have a very strong natural defense against magic & the elements to begin with.
How would dragons be able to fly in storms if they weren't lightning proof.

I've never seen a dragon fly in a storm anyway!
But like I said before... You're getting toooooooo Dungeons and Dragons for a QfG related board. Last time I checked, QfG didn't have 'tech classes' and all that crappy 'counter wards'
Oh, and it's a proven fact, that when transfigured, you take on the traits of that creature, so when your in you're human form (as you are now), you're as vulnerable as me or Bria to eklecktrissssity...
