Nero da Hero
So I'm trying to place a category on Toby but I'm unsure what he is, exactly. To my knowledge the game never really states what species he is, so I though we could have a little fun with it.

Any ideas?

As far as I know, 'Scandinavian' and 'Slavic' refer to different things - the Slavic peoples live in the Balkans in central Europe and include Albanians and the former Yugoslavians, whereas the Scandinavian peoples are northern Europeans and include Danes, Norwegians and Swedes.

Anyway, as for what Toby is... he just is. He's Toby. He defies description. wink.gif He can't be a wookie, since wookie hair is very, very shaggy (as in this or this... their hair is very much like an English sheepdog), whereas Toby's hair is closely clipped and neat (as in here). In any case, wookies belong to a completely different mythos.

Which is why I said what I said. Mordavia is somewhere in the Slavic area of Europe, not the Scandinavian part. It comprises a much larger part of Europe than just the Balkans. Slavic areas are essentially eastern Europe, from the Baltic down to the Balkans, from Poland to Russia, including Transylvania. Linguistically, the languages in these countries are all Slavic, save Hungarian, which isn't even Indo-European, rather Uralic, but with heavy Slavic influences. The legends and names used in QfG4 are most definitely Slavic. It is the part of Europe that has historically has had some of the largest Gypsy populations. It has nothing to do with Scandinavia. Just because the music uses Grieg, who was from Norway, does not mean the game was placed in his homeland.

I think I voted wookie but I don't remember anymore.
