While using the computers in one of my college's labs I was running accros several problems. Just a few to illustrate:
1. They wouldn't use Mozilla or even Netscape.
2. IE doesn't use google as a search engine, by default.
3. IE doesn't have a pop-up blocker.
Well I found that the google tool bar fixes most of the problems:
*It helps you use the google search engine faster.
*It's compact.
*It has a pop-up blocker.
*It has a key words option.
*It allows you to rank pages.
*It also has an "auto fill" option, for any of you who like those.
So I would recommend the
Google tool bar.

It's nice, very nice.
I love the idea of having the ability to do a google search no matter where you are, but the pop-up stopper dosen't seem to work. Oh well, perhaps I should have installed the english version after all.

Have you tried the options, you might have to turn it on. Aslo, try clicking the button for it, that turns it on and off. You want it to say "Blocking Popups" if you click on the button the text will say "Site popups allowed" instead.

ZoneAlarm Pro also stops popups - it's one of my most treasured programmes!

I'm glade you got it working Mikkel. Briavel, that's good to hear. I really enjoy it when I can help others.
I got my McAfee software configured well enough that I don't even see banner ads anymore!

So I surf the web advertisement free.

Thanks, PW! I am enjoying the tool bar. It's nice to type in search strategies without having to go to Google's website and quite nice not to have to deal with pop-up ads.

It's definitely the best thing for IE, although I much prefer Mozilla over even a modded IE, it's just better, so I'd recommend Mozilla over IE when possible.
