We now have a Qfg based webcomic at our site! It's called Qfg Legacy and the Author is J. Rinaldi!

There will be a new episode 3 times every week

I hope you enjoy it and feel welcome to post your own comments/suggestions (if any).

Thanks again J.

Hmmm... It seems in my rush to post before leaving work, it didn't send before...
Anywho, let me just say that this turned out better than I expected it to.
Especially since I was expecting something more towards Marvel's style of comic books, with those confusing dialogue bubbles and boxes...
I give you a honorary "
Pat-on-the-Backā¢"
Well done!

Orion - My other webcomic, Arcana, is a lot like that with dialog bubbles. This comic, though, will be more storybook in form. I want to play on the fantasy/faerie tale elements of QFG. Remember, though, bubbles aren't always bad. Sure, some childish superhero books (and not all superhero books are bad. Check out Kevin Smith's Green Arrow run) use the bubbles but so award winners like Maus and the Sandman.
Brassfire - You only have to wait until Wednesday!

Hey I love the bubble stuff
Orion
Sep 23 2003, 01:03 PM

I didn't say I didn't like them... I just said that they can get confusing if too many are in one frame
JRinaldi
Sep 23 2003, 03:24 PM
Very true. Not to mention they can cover key visual clues if you aren't careful. When working with bubbles I find a need to balance telling the story in a character's voice and fitting the words in a bubble that's small enough to show off the picture. Very tough sometimes.
Expect Legacy to combine bubbles for dialogue as well as storytelling underneath the graphic boxes.

Hey J, is there a way to make the text in those letter scrolls more readable?
JRinaldi
Sep 23 2003, 03:57 PM
You mean in the third strip? They are a bit blurry, aren't they? I'll work on it when I get home from work and try to get you a new version with those two panels made clearer.

Wierd. My post didn't go through.
Let's try again.
Today ended Chapter 1, Kasper's Story.
Next week begins Chapter 2, Lisha's Story.
If anyone wants to give me feedback I'll hear it gladly!

You mean they ll all meet up at the inn?
JRinaldi
Sep 26 2003, 09:52 PM
Yep. The four main characters introduced in the first twelve strips will become an adventuring group who meet in Silmaria.
Oh! And for those who had trouble reading it, here is the text of the notes sent to Kasper:
Note 1: Kasper, you have impersonated a thief and your actions have locked two of our best agents behind bars. There will be a reckoning! Sincerely, the Chief.
Note 2: Kasper, This is your last chance to live. Tell the Sherrif that my fellows were not robbing your shop and were welcome friends. If you do not the third note will be pinned on your coffin. Sincerely, the Chief.
Sorry about the quality of those images. I'm still trying to figure that part out exactly.

It looks terrific, JRinaldi. I read Kaspar's part with enjoyment.

I'm thinking either one of the Chief's henchmen wrote that note, or the Chief was merely bluffing... but in either case, Kaspar was wise to get out of Siegburg/Spielburg when he did. Although the Chief is basically an honorable guy, some of the members of his guild are not quite in line with his thinking....
I'll bet you the other thief in the store was Bruno, and it was he who wrote the note. That sounds like his style, to me

Just speculating...

Sep 28 2003, 09:28 PM
Could have been Sly and Buster... oh wait. You guys don't know them yet.
JRinaldi
Sep 28 2003, 11:05 PM
The other thief wasn't Bruno.
He may very well have written the notes, however. It seems odd, doesn't it, that the Chief would sign notes and draw that much attention to himself. Maybe a certain someone who once betrayed the thieves guild and the bandits wanted to put the Sheriff on the Chief's trail in order to drive out his rival. Maybe this was the beginning of a small little war which drove that certain someone out of Speilburg to become an assassin for hire on a certain sunny island.
Anything's possible.

I concur. It is fun to read not only to see what happens to the characters, but also to see the artwork, all of which is very original despite, or rather because of the fact that it is comprised of screen captures. I like it.

Looking forward to more...

Episode3 of Harami's story is up!
JRinaldi
Oct 10 2003, 12:22 PM
This ends Harami's story.
Next week will be Chapter 4: Elyssa's story. Look for guest appearances by a certain formerly undead little girl and everyone's favorite tarot card reader.
After that we begin the group's first quest! Except to see one of the guildmasters that week! Also, learn what happened to the Hero's hot air gondala.
Finally, don't forget the contest! You have until a week from today to enter! The prize is a complete copy of King's Quest 6 (and by complete I mean complete. Still has the original Sierra catalog that came with it, still in the original box) and a copy of the King's Quest Companion which not only gives walkthroughs for games 1-6 but fictionalizes them and gives extra goodies like information on the spells Alexander cast in KQ3, the tombstones Rosella found in KQ4 and more!

On the page for Harami's story, - page 9 -
http://www.questformoreglory.com/webcomic/harami/page9.html - the link to the next chapter isn't working

The same goes for this page -
