I would just like to see everybody elses opinions on which method they preferred, so using the thief method as a fighter for example would count as finishing him as a thief.
Almirena
I liked the thiefly way... but I also liked the magician's method... and the fighter's method (yes, getting in close and shoving Ad Avis over...)

I voted "thief" - but I could have voted any of the methods, really!
Lira Lindriel
Mage. I used to play every char with mage skills - and thus for a long time I never ever saw any other endings! lol.gif
Elsa Von Spielburg
I prefer the mage cause with his reversal spell he is less vulnerable than the other two - plus after breaking the candles he gets some extra time to kill Ad Avis thumbs.gif
Mikkel
I'd say the Mage, seeing Khaveen turned into a snake just brings a smile to your face, not to mention making the brazier fall on Ad Avis and sending him out of the tower.
Spearflight
I like the thiefly way because you go in with the certainty that if you slip you could end up as roadside nachoes. (EWWWWW!)
Paladin Wizard
It doesn't matter much to me. I kill him many ways. I (Gabriel) once linked his eyes to Baba Yaga's shower. devil.gif
Rath Darkblade
Did someone say "Ewwww"? eek.gif!!!

OTOH, PW, that mightn't kill Ad Avis... although it'll probably turn him blind. tongue.gif

I myself prefer the thief method, if only because I've never been able to kill Ad Avis any other way. <shrug> I managed to get to the inner sanctum as a wizard, but never managed to get the spell right on the spot where the brazier is... frown.gif

I liked the fighter method. First it had the element of defenstration in a most satisfying and traditional method, and second it was the hardest to actually pull off. It was fun though.
Paladinlover
Pushing off Ad Avis was the best way to take him out. So the fighter is my choice.

Till next time stay cool cool.gif
Paladin Wizard
The only thing I have yet to do is kill Addy as a pure fighter. I usually join WIT and have use a more Wizard style ending.
Susan
how do you kill ad avis in other ways? The only way I've ever been able to do is the thief way. Is there another enterance or something? That baba yoga sounded interesting. Scary, but interesting lol.gif
Orion
I prefer the Wizards way, becuase you get rid of Khaveen as well <grin>
Paladin Wizard
I always killed him in a duel. But turning him into a snake does have a certain appeal to it. wink.gif
Orion
I'd rather have him turned into a snake than be dead, becuase I think that being a snake would be more... uh... suitable for him than death - at it last's longer than *STAB*ack*dies* biggrin.gif
Susan
Can anyone hear me??? confused.gif

OH....i know whats wrong, i'm invisible again.
tokeloshe
The mage way: Go in the same entrance as the fighter, make sure you have reversal active, cast fetch on one of the candles, cast a force bolt at the braai (or bbq if you prefer) set by the Ad Avis' feet. That will teach him the importants of keeping seperate tasks seperate. You do not grill yourself some steak while summoning ultimate evil wink.gif

Now, excuse me while I swallow a pebble and become invisible...
Rognik
Actually, the three ways to get in varied and quite different. For the longest time, I had no clue how to kill him as a fighter. Then I used some logic on what a fighter would do:

Fighter: kill the guards on the door. (that's the fighter way, right?) You fight them one at a time and can charge through the front door easily. You can figure it out from getting past Khaveen.

Wizard: levitate. (Wizards use spells. Duh!) I always end up in the same place, running through the hallways and at a balcony watching Khaveen pace across the pizza elemental summoning circle. No more spoilers for you. (May only work without thieving skills)

Thief: I always found this way the hardest to initialize. You use the rope. But you have to use it just before the eunuch decides to turn around and see you sneak in the window. After cutting through the harem, though, the steps are fairly logical. It's the most arcadish, I'd say, but still fun. smile.gif

Now, a question: How do you dispose of the living statue in the summoning chamber as a fighter? I've heard a rumour about the statue as a wizard that since he's magical <static in transmission> and he crumbles to ash. I assume there's a way to do this as a fighter and not be forced to run away (like I always did). Someone shed some light on me?
Paladin Wizard
If you are able to trigger the actual fighter ending (No magic interference.) you can fight & destroy the statue; then defeat Ad Avis. But you must watch the time when doing this, because Ad Avis can summon Iblis while you are fighting the statue.
Briavel
You can also run from the battle which can be a lot less time consuming. Not as heroic, perhaps, but you can be assured of stopping Ad Avis in time. smile.gif
Susan
Thanks for your help. wave2.gif
Briavel
You're welcome. Enjoy! smile.gif
Ignus_Draconus
I found the mages way of doing thing the easiest, and I could never manage to get to the fighter's ending. the theif's was the best.
Azrael
Thief for me. Nothing like the sound of my daggers knocking the wind out of his carcass! thumbs.gif
Darla
You can turn Khaveen into a snake????

(I haven't read any of the Trial by Fire walkthroughs, so I'm probably missing lots of stuff). I only twigged about the Caged Beast a few months ago - I always thought Dervish was talking about the saurus.

Stupid Darla *shakes head in self-disgust*

Isn't it nice to be surprised by games many years later, though?
Matthias
thief was the most inventive and original biggrin.gif
BustonJFreem
The thief has to have the best ending of all three characters, simply because I don't use it as often as the other two and it has a certain novelty to it still. But fighting Khaveen as the fighter is great. Harem girls are nice too.

Sincerely,

Buston J Freem, attourney at law
