i am going mad! i have gone through the directory and changed it to exactly where my saved game is and it says "terribly sorry, but that is not a save game file" ! i change the directory to c:\sierra\qganth\qg1new and it brings me to all of the files that that folder contains, one of which is my save: glorysg.001. do i need to that save that file as something else, or am i going to the wrong place? I would love any feedback.

glorysg.001 is not a valid file name for a saved character. It must end in .sav - I would suggest changing the "001" to "sav". That should work... if not, you may need to try saving the file again in QFG1VGA and make sure to save it with a .sav extension. Let us know if that does not work, but I am sure it will.
