Im sorry that i have to annoy u guys with the same old annoying question that everyone has been asking, but i need help getting this game to work. To be more specific, that patches.

Whenever i try to run the 1.2 patch it says: "C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The systemfile is not suitablefor running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications.Choose'close' to terminate the application."

I tried switching the compatibility of the file to 2000 and 95 but no luck. Please help, im in dire need to play this game lol, u have no idea. The more specific the directions, the better.

What windows are you running?

Hes running windows xp, pentium 4.

Oh, and he means the 1.1 patch is giving that error, so the 1.2 patch will not install because 1.1 has not.

You don't really need patch 1.1 for the 1.2 to be installed.

My guess is - either there is a corruption in his Windows XP system or the file he downloaded is corrupt.

If that doesn't fix the problem then maybe you should try re-installing Windows XP

And if that doesn't work we re gonna have to figure something else

If you put your Windows XP installation CD in the drive, you should be able to attempt to run a repair check to see if there are any damaged files.

Also maybe try running a virus scan - make sure you virus definitions are up-to-date. Sometimes a virus will corrupt system files and cause other things to blow up when you try to run them.

You might also want to try removing QFG5 completely, and then re-install it - and use the v1.2 patch. You would need to start your characters over again anyway, so no big loss; just the time to re-install the game.

hey guys i just wanted ask, does quest for glory 5 have LAN and online play? i was thinking about buying it very soon.

I believe QfG5 was originally slated to have online capability; however, that feature never made it into the final product. So the answer is no, QfG5 is off-line single-player only.
