I was told to download patches into the game directories/files. But everytime I try, a window pops up and says "You do not have permission to save in this directory. See the adminstrator to obtain permission." Blah. What's this mean? and how can I get around it? Or just get the patches to work?
Ghost_Rider
Do you have full permissions on the machine you have the game on? First thought is that you are logged on as a non-admin user.

Windows can be silly, so perhaps that is not the case. So when you downloaded the ZIP files, and copied the extracted files (or extracted them), you sent to them to the installed game directory, correct?

For example, for QFG4, you should be copying the NewRisingSun patches into: C:\Sierra\QGANTH\QG4CD (or whatever your game directory is)

It should ask if you wish to overwrite the files in that directory, just say "Yes to All".

No, I am the only user on the computer. I think I managed to install the patch though. At least I got through the initation. That's what I wanted. Now I can't seem to ask the laibon to buy the prisoner though. (QFG3) *shrug*

Ok, which character class are you? I am trying to remember if it's just the Figher, or all three classes where you need a single dinosaur horn. If you have none, or two or more, it doesn't work. You can only have the one dinosaur horn in your inventory. If you have more, either store them in your chest in the hut or the inn, or just drop the extra ones.

(I am guessing you have already gotten the Dispel potion and used it)

I don't remember ever having trouble with more than one dino horn. I did a lot of animal control in the savanna and killed a lot of them Running Deaths. It always worked with me, having several horns. Maybe that's something the patch fixes also.

I was a paladin (I already beat the game) the problem was I didn't have everything for the bride price. I had like 8 horns and it let me in after I got the fine robe I was missing.
