Im playing the VGA version of quest for glory one for some odd reason i cant get cheetaur claws and troll beards for the healer, and thus i cant get 100 percent points
is this a glitch or am do i have to just keep moweing down the beasts untill i get the said items
Paladin Wizard
Ok, first you should have posted this in the QFG1 folder. wink.gif And yes this is a glitch in the game. You'll have to restart or restore to an early point in the game. This glitch happens when you experience/stats get to high. So you have to kill a Cheetaur early on in the game.
Almirena
You also need to have talked to the Healer about those things. There are two possible reasons for failing to find claws and beard on the corpses of the respective monsters:

a) You haven't talked to the healer about potion ingredients and claws and beard in particular;

OR

b) If you have talked to her about these things - being absolutely CERTAIN you have engaged in all the dialogue options (I mean it - double-check just to be sure!), then you have encountered the too-high-experience and not-enough-achieved glitch. As PW said, restore to a much earlier game and try to keep pace with both your stat building AND your points.

But try the dialogue possibility first.
Grand Dad
Almirena is right...unless you ask the Healer you'll not be able to get either the claws or the beard.

Too late am I?

Oh! And I have never been able to get 100% score in any of QFG 1 to 3, except Shadows of Darkness? Can anyone tell me why???
Orion
I'm resisting the urge to say it was a PEBKAC error biggrin.gif

Truely though, QFG is a lot more complicated in the points department than other sierra games. You can lose points doing certain tasks that will keep you from getting the maximum points, even though you've done EVERYTHING you've supposed to.
Paladin Wizard
For EGA 1 & 2 it probably is a PEBKAC error. biggrin.gif QFG3 has bugs that prevent you from obtaining a maxium score, just like the VGA version of QFG1.
Grand Dad
I'd love to play the original ega QFG1...I have the remake vga version...I still end up about 20 points short.

Now for QFG3, yes one does lose Honor and Paladin points when you go into the Laibon's hut seeking the hand, heehheee <wicked drooling grin> of the fair maiden etc (I did avoid losing too many by slowing down my PC to 20% speed) but not the score points!!! rotf.gif

Well now, Grand Dad, I do most sincerely hope that by seeking the hand of fair Johari, you are in fact seeking the rest of Johari as well...

...otherwise it could turn out to be a rather disgusting scenario. tongue.gif

Now, now Rath...I may be old but I am no Lothario...so the rest of Johari doesn't really matter. Anyway she prefers the "Cowman" as she puts it in the end. roflmao.gif

lol.gif I finally got around to reading some of the comments in this thread. rolleyes.gif
Grand Dad
So, what are your comments on our comments? lol.gif
Rath Darkblade
Hmm. Pardon my ignorance, Grand Dad, but who is Lothario? <confused>
Grand Dad
lol.gif Lothario from Rowe's play The Fair Penitent. He stands for, rather means, a seducer, a rake. wave2.gif jestera.gif
Rath Darkblade
Ah. I have heard of The Fair Penitent, but have never actually had the pleasure of seeing or studying it. Thanks for the info, Grand Dad. smile.gif
