So when i start a game there is no speech first off and there should be. Also when going to create a new character or any text that displays everything moves really fast (the characters go through the door when choosing which one you want really really fast) the text that displays during gameplay disappears really fast as well. Like I don't have enough time to read the text. This is both from the narration and from any descriptions that I get when clicking on any objects. I dont know if this sounds confusing or not but I am hoping that someone can help resolve this problem

I have this same problem...and I hear no speech. I turned off the speech and the text boxes stayed until I clicked them, but I would like to have speech...

This problem has to do with the cd
First, you need to make sure that your Qfg4 cd is inside the drive. Second, you need to make sure and mount your cd drive into DosBox, otherwise the game won't be able to read it. Open the DosBox.cof (located where the shorcut for starting DosBox is) and go to the last line where it says you can add your own startup commands. Add this line: Mount d d:\ (replace d with your cd drive letter). And third, you need to make sure that the cd drive letter, written inside the Qfg4 config file is the same with the one your cd rom drive uses. To do that, go to your Qfg4 installation folder, and open the config file called: RESOURCE.CFG. Look where it says: "resAUD=" and make sure the drive letter is the correct one. And last but not least, I'm moving this topic cause it's in the wrong forum -------------------- |

Just copy the RESOURCE.AUD file from the CD to the installed folder and edit the following entries in the RESOURCE.CFG file to:
resAUD = .\ resSFX = .\ patchDir = .\;.\patches -------------------- |

And when all else fails, reinstall QFG 4 from the CD, I found that it did solve the problem once (and I had the CD drive mounted at first).
