Petition to continue the Quest for Glory series

We, the Quest for Glory fans, would like to ask Sierra (or who ever the hell owns the Quest for Glory games now!) to continue the Quest for Glory series and to make a Quest for Glory 6 under these conditions:


1. To get the Coles to work on the game and if possible to have them Create/Lead the game team.
2. We understand that the current Hero’s storyline might as well have ended in Quest for Glory 5 and that the new game may have new Hero/Storyline/Game Characters etc… And we agree with that.
3. The game style and such should naturally remain the same to continue the Quest for Glory originality/tradition.

Finally if the current Quest for Glory owners do not wish to continue the series. We request that they sell the rights to the Coles so that they may continue the series.

Add me to the list! I have loved the QFG games ever since I got QFG3. I have played them all and loved them all!

I miss all of the old style role playing games, qfg, LSL, SQ, KQ, etc. I would if Sierra brought them back. Those games are what led me to Sierra in the first place, and I think it is a terrible shame that they are no longer making games like that any more.

Oh to go back to the days of Freddy Pharkas, Fronteir Pharmacist, to Torin's passage, to Woodruff and the Schnibble! All great adventure games that didn't require beating the stuffing out of everything that came up to you! ( unless you wanted to, of course).

I'm still not really sure whether it's 100% realistic to ask Sierra to give the Coles complete control over a project when they wouldn't even give Roberta (former founder) enough control over MOE to keep it from becoming as un-KQ as possible (considering the Coles would want to return to Sierra), but hey, one can dream.

Although I'd be okay with no more games, I would like Sierra to give the rights to QfG over to the Coles (or at least partial rights), so they may use the property as they see fit.

Hello Sierra, please make another game. And let the Coles work on it. And let the game come together again. I honestly never heard of the game, or knew it was out until I saw it on the store shelves. Advertising and good graphics will help.

my lust for this series to continue is like a cinder that rests inside my soul... as i sit here... i wish nothing more to reembark on a journey as great as this one. i know that times change... and with that time, so do people, but honestly when sierra chose to discontinue these wonderful series they had to work with (KQ, SQ, QfG, PQ, GK1, etc...) i was both hurt and taken back. you have lost me as a fan... but there is still time to redeem yourself.

I first was introduced to the QFG games with Hero's Quest. It was the first CRPG style game that I had and I have loved the series ever since. I loved it so much that I purchased QFG 3 and 4 during a long period of time that I did not even have a computer anticipation when I was able to get a 486 to play them. Unfortunately I did not play QFG V until recently because I had a hug amount of games that I planned to beat already when I bought it. I am currently playing it now and love it. I do miss the John Reeves Davies (however you spell it) narration in it but the game is still wonderful. If there were to be a 6th one I would defiantly purchase it. In fact if I had to choose between Jefferson from Black Isle, Half-Life 2, and QFG 6, I would get the QFG game without any hesitation.

I love QFG series as much as the rest of you but after QFG5 was released the Coles stated that it would be the LAST of the series. This was their choice not Sierra's. Sierra would have happily continued the Quest for Glory series but the Coles had gotten bored with it.

Just letting you know.


P.S. I'll sign anyway, i'd love another one to be made. But not in 3D, we want old school sci0 or sci1 engine styles!

Even if they did say that they were ending the series, they may see how many fans still want a new Quest for Glory. I'm sure they would make a lot of money. Okay, I heard you all an all BUT a QFG6?! I dunno. The hero guy became king and is done and all. Hero days over? I thought QFG5 was the ending. The coles should do the game and I do sign this petition BUT the storyline should be must other person or maybe the king to continue adventuring or another NEW series but with QFG style.

I am a huge QFG fan and the series is one of the only lot of games I have actually ever brought in my gaming life. I just love it that much and I believe ressurecting it, even by starting all over with a new hero and storyline etc. will still be great as long as the Coles are involved in creating it. Anyway you have my vote.

hello i'am from israel and the quest for glory series was no less a work of art.
it's rare now that rpg's have an interesting plot and you don't get to think no more when playing.
the quest for glory series is the recipe for a perfect adventure game and if you will market it as an adventure game i think you'll make a great success and it could hit the mark.

Hi I'm Reinier from Holland and I'd like to sign this petition.

Mostly because this is the only game series that I still find interesting to play after all those years. The storyline has always been most interesting and the (re-)playability is still great after all these years. Also, let's not forget the ever present sense of humor combined with mood-setting environments, the always top-notch music and the variation of the different character classes.

Dispite the enormous amount of work that goes into getting Shadows of Darkness to run on most new systems, it is still my favourite game of all time. We'll see what the future will bring us...

I think the Coles should work on QFG 6, and I feel it should be set in a Catholic-controlled setting (for example, Spain or possibly Italy.)

I believe it is time for the Hero to face off with the most powerful establishment during the Dark Ages: the Catholic Church!

I've been playing on computers back in the day of Commodore 64 and when DOS 2.1 had to be loaded from a floppy for IBM's. To this day, no game series has ever impacted me the way Quest for Glory has. It is completely without equal. It's unique blend of real time fighting without being so aggrivatingly complex, while retaining the fun and beauty of letting you build your own character, backed with a story that has always been intriguing while knowing to laugh at itself, makes this the epitome of true adventure gaming. The supremacy of games these days are based how much junk they can throw into a game, without analyzing the construction of the game itself. Quest for Glory has been fantastically simple without ever failing to deliver. WE WANT THIS GAME BACK! It's real simple: You make sequels, we buy sequels, sequels bring you money, sequels bring us happiness. It's a win win situation. Indulge.

This is my vote for a new QfG game.
The adventure game genre is slowly dying as companies reuse the same known formulae in order to appeal to the lowest common denominator. The QfG style was also a known to work formula which has gone untapped for far too long.

Storyline over at QFG5? what about the hero`s hometown? he started in spielburg but he had to come from somewhere else so how about a enormous amount of trouble befell his hometown forcing his return there, plus add some old friends, like kreesha or something and yes even if he married his wife.. perhaps they can battle together

One of the greatest disappointments I ever faced was when QFG6 never came out. I would truly like to see the old series started up again. Of all the games I have played, from TES 3 Morrowind to Warcraft 3, none have ever surpassed my devout loyalty to the Quest for Glory saga. Lori-Anne and Corey Cole are unsurpassed when it comes to making a good game.

If this new game is ever made, I would like to see a more realistic system (More choices, cosmetic choices such as different food types, more equipment (Head-bands, helmets, rings, amulets, and similiar accesories), a nd perhaps some REALLY realistic stuff (Stay out in the sun, get a sun tan :) ) ) This sounds like a daunting job in this worlds of expectations, of games like B&W, MW and Fable to surpass, but I have no doubt that the end product will be one of the most expected games of all time.

My salutations to everyone who made this petition possible, everyone involved in the making of the previous games, and especially, to LA and C Cole.

It's a great series, and as shown by the number of fans still following it after all this time, there would be no lack of people to buy the game. I do not see why Sierra take the risk in creating new games which may not prove popular when they have a perfectly fit series with a huge fan-following that they could continue.

True, the last game could certainly have been the last in the series, however it is conceivable that becoming a King does not renounce his Hero status, and that he could be summoned away at any point to continue the series.

I wouldn't even care if they introduced a completely new hero (Or allowed one of the other important characters to become playable, such as Else or Erana/Katrina). If the series were continued in any fashion, I would not care whom I played as, as long as I got to play it.

I'm surprised they didn't make another after QFG5. It was a very popular series! I would like to see our current hero continue his quest. It may be complicated to do, but if anyone can do it, the Coles can! Just make it so he didn't marry anyone and didn't become king. Elsa will be the ruler instead as they go into QFG6. As for Erana and Katrina I don't know...

It is with great shame that I admit that I've known of this petition for a long time and yet never signed. I suppose that I thought that the rights to QFG would never have any hope of being sold, and even if they did, the Coles haved moved on to other projects. It seemed too much to hope that they would be willing to re-enter the world of QFG to make another game.

Now I know the error of my thinking, and I couldn't be happier! I Asrai, hereby sign this petition. It would be absolutely wonderful if another QFG could be made by the Coles.

I would love to see the creaters have the rites if nothing else for them to add the things that didn't get in the preveus releases and to make avable to new gamers that never played this classic series. I, tcmaster3, signs this petition herein in fervid hope that the QFG series may be continued. I also agree that the storyline and plot-based adventure genre should return. Adventure games just aren't what they used to be. Needless to say the game graphics will be tremendously better, but I also prefer that the traditional style of the game be preserved. All game elements can be improved and changed, but just give us QFG fans the satisfaction of saying, "ah the QFG game I knew is back".

I am a big fan of the Quest for Glory Series and would love to see a QFG 6 made. I sign this petition to voice my vote that the project go through based that Lori and Cole have a lead role in the storyline and overall game creation.

Quest for Glory was one of the (probably the) best overall series produced by Sierra On-Line. The games all featured musical soundtracks, awesome plots, multidimensional characters, worthy bad guys, lovely graphics and finally the humour and emotion that we all love so very much from the Coles and their many compadres at Sierra.

That said, I sign this petition for the Coles to be involved in a new QFG game. I don't sign this petition in the hope that Vivendi makes a QFG version in the same vein as 'Leisure Suit Larry: Magna Cum Laude' and has the lack of input that Al Lowe had on that, but rather in the hope that the new game will feature in the main input from the original creators.

Enough talk. Let's see another awesome QFG game produced by the real deal!

I will gladly sign any petition to continue the QFG series. The brilliant mix of roleplayign, action and adventure game features along with a great storyline is a stroke of genious. Unfortunately the game development studios of today, or their higher ups holding a firm hand on the funding, have totaly forgotten that developing games is an artform in entertainment and storytelling. So instead they flood the market with as many low quality games they can to make as much quick money as they can, preferably on consol as thats what the parents of children buy. And parents buy stuff that looks good on the package for their children not caring/knowing really how good it is or what it is.

Its all about profit now. Not joy. Children nowadays dont even know how good a game can be as they havent been around during the old glory days so they cant know what they have missed
Today its just about very flashy "require-a-ninjacomputer" graphics that took so long to produce that the game ends up having very short storylines/subpar Gameplay = low value for the buck. People play once then put it on the shelve to collect dust. Sure the company got the cash for it but they are slowly killing the game as a medium by this dirty method. Doom3 anyone? Short, linear run form start to finish shooting everythign that moves. Hyped for two years. Sells like butter but after you played it once will you ever again? not likely. But how many keep playing the quest for glory series today and soem of the episodes are over ten years old! Thats value and quality.

No we need the coles back developing the qfg series or similar to bring some life back into the industry. For the sake of the gaming medium and the gamers.

I definitely want to sign this petition. QfG is the best adventure game series ever. The action/adventure/role-playing genre isn't dead, there are way too many of us out there for that to be true...check out what these old games go for on eBay and elsewhere, and how quickly they get snapped up. We have money, we want games, we want the Coles to head the project. Please. Thank you!
